Grit-A-Rita Two Ways

Tastes like a classic Margarita, but has a little Southern magic thrown in. Two ways to try: Fancy or Simple.
Ingredients
Fancy Recipe
  • 1 ½ oz Kentucky Grit Unaged Corn Whiskey (only 1.5 oz as it’s 103 proof!)
  • 1 oz Lime Juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
  • ½ oz Orange Liqueur (or Triple Sec)
  • ½ oz Brown Sugar Syrup* or Agave Syrup
  • Lime Wheel (for garnish)
  • (optional) Coarsely Ground Salt (for rim of glass**)

Simple Recipe
  • 1 ½ oz Kentucky Grit Unaged Corn Whiskey (only 1.5 oz as it’s 103 Proof!)
  • 3 oz Margarita Mix
  • Lime Wheel (for garnish)
  • (optional) Coarsely Ground Salt (for rim of glass**)

Instructions
  1. Add ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker.
  2. Cap the tin and shake vigorously until frost begins to form on the outside, about 15 seconds.
  3. Strain into a salt-rimmed, ice-filled Rocks or Margarita glass.
  4. Garnish and serve.

*Tip for Salting the Rim

Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass to moisten the edge. Using a saucer filled with salt, gently press rim into salt while holding glass upside down and at a slight angle. Rotate slightly after each press rim is covered. Avoid spinning rim in salt to avoid uneven clumping.
